Dua'e Nudba, a brief description.

Dua Nudba occupies a special position amongst the many duas and ziyarat which have been narrated for Imame Zaman (atfs). This is not only a complete dua, but also a comprehensive ziyarat. This dua embraces various verses of Quran and traditions from the Holy Imams (as) to explain special facts of religion and faith. As regards the autheticity of this dua, it is sufficient to say that every sentence of this dua can be backed by verses of the Holy Quran and traditions of Ahle Bayt (as) Apart from explaining the need for Imamate and leadership this dua highlights the reasons why Ahle Bayt (as) were opposed and oppressed by the people after the demise of the Holy Prophet (saw). It also brings to light the real position of the Ahle' Bayt (as) and mentions their excellence.

Truly, the unique feature of this dua is that over a period of time, it draws its reader towards Imame Zaman (atfs). It creates an exceptional love for the Imam of the Time in the deepest realms of his heart. At he recite its sentences, his attention is drawn to his current state of affairs and surroundings where there are newer interpretations to religion everyday, where there is anarchy all around him, where enemies take advantage of him, where understanding religion is difficult because of newer meanings to verses and traditions. In such a condition, his heart yearns for the presence of our Imam (as). He realises how difficult it is for him to remain away from Imame Zaman (atfs).

The regular recition of Dua Nudba creates a new hope in his heart He begins every day with this hope that Insha Allah. today will be the day of reappearance of Imam (as). This lover of Imame Zaman (as) calls out to him (as) , Where is the Imam who grants respect to his friends and debases his enemies. Sometime he remembers Imam (as) and sheds tears saying, "It is intolerable for me that I see the people but I cannot see you. It is intolerable that I cry for you while all others forsake you. O the son of Ahmad! Is there a way through which You may be met?. This dua creates such a spirit of sincerity and love that he begins to converse with the Imam (as) "O Imam! I talk to and receive a reply from all persons, but do not hear a sigh of breath nor any whispering from you. O Master! Where should I look and search for you?" Truly, such a conversation lightens the heart and gives him peace. But the thirst for meeting Imam (as) remains in his heart.

Finally, he humbly prays to Allah for the early reappearance of Imam Zaman (as). He seeks the help of Allah in fulfilling the rights of the Ahle' Bayt (as), in serving them (as), in obeying their (as) orders and for being worthy to be mentioned in their (as) prayers. He also puts forth his desire to be included amongst the servants and helpers of Ahle Bayt
